Finding the Perfect Blazer for Fall

Let’s start simple: a black blazer.

Personally, I can’t get enough of blazing black. When I think about blazers for fall, here are a few that come to mind. I’ve been buying the same blazer from H&M for about four years now, and I just realized they still sell it. It’s not super stylish, but it’s oversized and lighter weight. It matches a lot of clothes in my closet, which is why I didn’t put it in the donation pile.

This next blazer is one I’m really excited about and I can’t wait to wear it. Last year I wore the ivory version every chance I got. Now it’s black and I’m very excited about it. Yes, it’s pricier, but not when you consider the quality. The Italian boiled wool is insane and really feels luxurious. I can see myself wearing this black version all fall and winter.

Next up is a chambray or herringbone blazer.

Even though we’re just getting into fall (technically it’s not even fall yet, right?!) , I’ve still worn the kilim blazer a few times – to work and on date night. This pattern is very classic, but helps to add a little pizzazz to your outfit. Like my black blazer, the one I wore was a couple years old, but this one is so pretty and ticks all the boxes. I mean, blazers are great for fall, but when you add kilim to the mix? Unreal costume potential.

A blazer can double as a jacket.

So the black blazer I shared above can also double as a jacket. Especially if you size up and have room to layer. I also have another J.Crew blazer (the evening blazer, no longer in stock) that is made of another thick wool – I definitely wear it as a jacket. I had my eye on this blazer but couldn’t justify the price, but now that it’s 50% off …… I may need to splurge.

And then there are others ……

Like a wrap blazer (fantastic gosh). Or a gray herringbone. Oh, or pinstripes. And let’s not forget camel (make sure it’s a rich camel color – some camels look cheap).
